TWO KNOTTY AFFAIRS

THE COUPLE DRESS UP IN THE SAME MANNER AS SAIFS PARENTS

KAREENA AND SAIF IN THEIR TROSSEAU

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan’s five year courtship has culminated in a week of wedding
celebrations. Brand new begum Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan’s wedding was high
on the opulent quotient, with royalty etched in every shred of the wedding functions.
As for the Bollywood’s new blushing bride, she looked drop dead gorgeous in all the
functions. Kareena wore Manish Malhotra for most of her functions, except the exchange of
vows on Tuesday.

After Kareena, it was actress Vidya Balan who joined the married brigade in Bollywood.
She married her long time beau and UTV Motion Pictures head Siddharth Roy Kapur. As
expected, the wedding functions were a hush hush affair. Only relatives and close friends
were invited for the ceremony. Veteran actress Rekha, who is known to be very close to
Vidya, was the only person from the film fraternity at the mehendi ceremony.

For the Sangeet Kareena adorned an orange and gold lehenga sari designed by Manish
Malhotra, with emeralds as jewellery, and Saif went the nawab way with a white Nehru
jacket worn over a kurta.

Saif Ali Khan’s outfits have been designed by Raghavendra Rathore. He wore a brocade
achkan with a pocket handkerchief that matched Kareena’s outfit for the wedding. He wore
a plain black bandhgala at the Delhi reception.

For the mehendi ceremony, Vidya wore her favourite designer Sabyasachi. She draped the
mustard yellow saree in Bengali style with floral jewellery. For the wedding, she dressed up
like a traditional Tamil bride in a nine yard Kanjeevaram saree with traditional South Indian
jewellery.

Sareez wishes both the couple a very happy married life.

Look Beautiful with Georgette Sarees/ Get Gorgeous with Georgette

Because of its grace and versatility, sarees have always been a popular Indian wear worldwide. A trendy saree is a perfect style statement for any occasion. If you want a chic look, then try georgette sarees. Light-weight and versatile, georgette sarees can be worn casually as well as in weddings. If draped well, these sarees suit all body types. Being soft in texture, one can even experiment with different draping styles in georgette sarees.

One of the latest trends is georgette and chiffon printed sarees. Georgette sarees with lovely abstract prints, ethnic prints, metallic designs and vibrant colors are quite in vogue these days. These look quite fashionable and are great for all kinds of casual and semi-formal functions. If you want a formal look, then go for georgette sarees with sequins and bead work. Sarees with crystals, stones, embroidery and other embellishments also look wonderful. Thus, many modern brides are opting for heavily-worked georgette sarees for their weddings.

With sarees – Be eternally fashionable

If you thought fashion was only about wearing short and revealing clothes, that would only suit skinny models, think again. ‘Indian sarees’ can beat these little short dresses any day. Sarees if draped beautifully can make you feel like a princess in a fairy tale, whatever the occasion might be.

The best thing about sarees is that there are no sizes and one can look anything from traditional beauty to a sexy babe just by experimenting with the style of draping. But trends do change for sarees as well. The multi hued chiffons gave way to light weight silks and then paved way for the so called ‘Designer sarees’. Thus even sarees change and evolve, and that’s the main reason they have survived through the centuries. And it won’t be an exaggeration to say that Sarees are truly irreplaceable and will never be lost amongst the plethora of western fashion trends.

However, this summer/monsoon give heavy sarees a miss. Look stunning by sporting chiffon sarees. Check out our collection at – www.sareez.com

Chill this summer with our printed sarees

Over the last decade, the popularity of saree has increased so much that even westerners are trying it big time on special occasions. Already a lot has been said about how saree can make you look like a diva. Therefore, instead of the little short dresses, try the lovely printed sarees to jazz up your summer. Printed sarees are light, classy and elegant. So this summer, just give heavy fabrics like viscose and crepe a miss and instead go for faux georgette/chiffon fabric sarees with digital prints.

For an ultra cool chic look, try using minimum accessories, like a funky bracelet or a simple beaded chain with printed sarees. Thus, the style mantra for the next summer party is to keep a lovely smile on your face and let your saree do all the talking.

When it is Sarees – Bollywood does matter !

A major influence on the favored choice of saree is the trend set by Bollywood stars and what they wear on the award nights. Even the influence of Bollywood Sarees has reached beyond seas and women settled abroad are also crazy about owning sarees. Their most preferred types are the ones that are glittering having zardosi work or zari or embroidery of some sort or resham work on them. From a simple cotton or silk saree with some golden thread or artistic work done on it to heavy gaudy sarees is always in demand for young women who imitate the celebrities.

The Saree Colors to be favored in 2011

Designer Sarees 2011 Whatever be the fabric, the year 2011 is the year of the color and shades of purple. This is the latest trendsetting color, which looks, quite girlie and beautiful. Violet being a royal color in itself will look great with works of resham and sequins on a net or tissue sarees, making a classy style statement. Fancy borders with intricately patched and embroidered with dark colored sequins look quite cool.

Other than purple, violet and mauve, other trendy colors are black, dark bottle green, dark royal blue, dark maroon, which always remain on the top of the priority list. Resham and sequins work looks best on dark colors giving the saree an aristocratic feel. These sarees are apt for evening parties where you can flaunt your stunning saree, along with a well-designed blouse complimenting the saree and suitable jewelry with it.

The Wedding Saree Trend of 2011

For wedding ceremonies, Benarasi silk sarees will keep their popularity for 2011. These “all time favorites” with their refined exquisite brocade and zari work on the border is a dream for any would-be bride. It is the shimmering luster of the Benarasi sarees that magnetize every one. These days a lot of creativity goes into making a Benarasi appear more breathtaking. Many designers use even the Benarasi silk fabric to create new styles as well.

Georgette Sarees will rule the roost in 2011

The lightest and trendiest fabric and is considered evergreen by women are Georgette Sarees and Net Sarees. Due to its puckered material, georgette and net makes the wearer look slim and stylish. On such types of sarees, heavy embroidery work looks gorgeous and makes you look magically pleasing to the eye.

Which Saree should I wear on my Wedding Day?

wedding day sarees bridal sareesFor a bride, Wedding Day is the most precious day and to make it more memorable it is necessary that you choose the best saree. Irrespective of the figure, height and looks, sarees can make you look exceptionally gorgeous. This is a day every bride wants to look her best and so picking up the right bridal saree becomes quite pivotal, as you will cherish this saree forever. Among the wide diversity of Indian Wedding Sarees, when you select your bridal wear, you have to consider certain aspects, like Fabric, Color, Draping Style etc. Let us take you through our guide:

The Wedding Fabric

The most customary type of bridal sarees is the silk sarees, which are available in different parts of India with their special types of embroidery and laces. The most popular silk sarees are Pure silk, Benaras Silk, Mysore silk, Kanchipuram, Orissa’s Ikat silk, Baluchari from Mushirabad, Gujarat’s Patola silk, Assam’s Muga sarees, Bandhani from Rajasthan, Paithani from Maharashtra, Pochampally from Andhra and Tamil Nadu’s Tanjore and Dharmavaram silk sarees.

bridal sarees wedding sareesAs a bride, you must select a saree that is not too heavy for you, as you need to be capable of carrying it the whole evening. It is best to get a heavy saree for the night ceremony and for the rest of the ceremonies of the day and the reception; you can go for something light. Other than the silk material, you can go for the Kashmiri embroidered bridal sarees, light synthetic tissue silks, creative Rajasthani bridals, Italian crepes and georgette. The tissue silks are cheap, light and easy to maintain, and paired with kundan, zari, zardosi and sequins they look quite splendid. The nylon or polyester made georgette are also light and can find a place in your wedding wardrobe for the additional ceremonies.

The Wedding Color

Traditionally red or maroon are the colors for an Indian bride, however, times are changing and a shift in bride’s preference to the shades of pink, peacock, golden yellow, green, yellow and other combinations are being noticed. The colors must be chosen keeping the complexion of the bride in mind as dark colors are good for fair-skinned brides and bright colors are the right choice for dusky brides.

The Saree Draping Style

There are various styles of draping a saree following the bride’s particular state of origin. Nonetheless, the most predominant style of draping is the North Indian style, where you make a “seedha pallu” bringing the free end of the saree in the front to display the intricate work of the pallu, and the South Indian Style, where you can do a left side opening of your pallu.

The Design

For a bride, it is essential to wear a nicely designed saree on her wedding day. Synthetic fabric is good to have gorgeous embroidery with zari, mirror, pearl, organza, patchwork, zardosi, sequins etc. Expensive fabric like silk, self laced simple designs look graceful. Even the south silk sarees are good but expensive choices as pure gold threads are used in them.

The Saree Blouse

Generally the bridal sarees come with dress material for the blouses, but if you have to take a separate blouse you have to get the perfect match in color of the saree or a color contrasting to the sari but matching the border maybe. You can further give matching neck and arm cuts for the blouse.
