Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan’s five year courtship has culminated in a week of wedding
celebrations. Brand new begum Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan’s wedding was high
on the opulent quotient, with royalty etched in every shred of the wedding functions.
As for the Bollywood’s new blushing bride, she looked drop dead gorgeous in all the
functions. Kareena wore Manish Malhotra for most of her functions, except the exchange of
vows on Tuesday.

After Kareena, it was actress Vidya Balan who joined the married brigade in Bollywood.
She married her long time beau and UTV Motion Pictures head Siddharth Roy Kapur. As
expected, the wedding functions were a hush hush affair. Only relatives and close friends
were invited for the ceremony. Veteran actress Rekha, who is known to be very close to
Vidya, was the only person from the film fraternity at the mehendi ceremony.

For the Sangeet Kareena adorned an orange and gold lehenga sari designed by Manish
Malhotra, with emeralds as jewellery, and Saif went the nawab way with a white Nehru
jacket worn over a kurta.

Saif Ali Khan’s outfits have been designed by Raghavendra Rathore. He wore a brocade
achkan with a pocket handkerchief that matched Kareena’s outfit for the wedding. He wore
a plain black bandhgala at the Delhi reception.

For the mehendi ceremony, Vidya wore her favourite designer Sabyasachi. She draped the
mustard yellow saree in Bengali style with floral jewellery. For the wedding, she dressed up
like a traditional Tamil bride in a nine yard Kanjeevaram saree with traditional South Indian

Sareez wishes both the couple a very happy married life.

sweets and lots and lots of crackers. What makes the festival of light more exciting is the
tradition of dressing up. This festival is the perfect opportunity for you to flaunt your style.

This season the design mantra is “Keep it simple with style”. The big trend this festive
season is to go minimalistic. Keep your focus on lots of accessories. Give Indian wear a funky modern twist and you could be the trend setter for your friends.

Keep aside your heavy sarees and suits and get yourself plain solid color sarees. Plain pastel
colored sarees with designers borders and lace are a huge hit this season. If you want to go in
for salwar suits , make sure you choose something that is feminine and elegant and yet has a

The Khan sisters Arpita and Alvira dressed in white .White was the color of the day with
choreographer Vaishali also walking in a white colored suit. We especially loved Kat in the white
chikan work designer salwar suit she wore.

Malaika Arora Khan looked pretty in a brown embroidered suit with turquoise chudidar and she
was seen with husband Arbaaz Khan and son. Younger brother Sohail Khan was also seen with wife
Seema Khan who wore a pink colored suit.

Sizzling Sonakshi in Rowdy Rathore

The songs are still ringing in my ears, but what I simply loved about the movie was Sonakshi. She simply sizzled and looked super glamorous.

Whoever thinks that Indian ethnic wear makes you look like a ‘behenji’ should go and watch Sonakshi in the movie. Though I generally refrain from using the adjective hot, yet this one word describes her look perfectly. She was simply ‘HOT’. She charmed us, she seduced us and she enthralled us. She was playful yet with grace.

Sonakshi gave us various looks, ranging from salwar suits to sarees to jeans and kurtis. She could be seen in tight fitted kurtis with patialas which turned into fitted churidars towards the end. The look was minimal with simple earrings and dupattas, on special occasions; she could be seen in sarees. The pretty sarees were plain solid color Georgette and chiffon with either blind borders or small embroidery work. For me, the look was simply flawless. With sarees, a kamar bandh was always there.

Sareez bring for you a special collection of jewelleries. Just browse through our online store and purchase what you like. You could also get custom made sarees here and get it at your doorstep free of cost. So what are you waiting for? Be a star like Sonakshi and surprise your friends and family by going all Indian this time.

How about trying a Yellow Saree this Baisakhi..!!!

Baisakhi or Vaisakhi, the Punjabi festival of harvest is that time of the year when women in North India draw out their favourite yellow sarees from their cupboards to participate in the festivities. In India, Cotton Sarees and more importantly yellow cotton sarees are de-riguer during festivals and occasions.

An ancient legend goes that any cloth that is stitched by a needle becomes impure and therefore saris that are worn on festive occasions should be weaved out of pure cotton. Yellow saris are also worn after child-birth by mothers as quite a few ceremonies are conducted in India after the entry of a new family member in the house.

If however, you are not comfortable wearing a sari then you can definitely try a printed yellow salwar kameez that will really augment your personality. If you have a very thin frame and you think that a saree will not look good on you then a yellow salwar kameez would prove to be a good alternative. Moreover, women who find managing a saree one big chore would find salwar kameez a very convenient dress.

With Baisakhi round the corner, I suggest you check out a few online portals that offer a wide variety of designs and prints in yellow sarees or salwar kameez.
