Deol – Takhtani Reception


Finally , the much talked about wedding came to an end preceded by a majestic wedding reception with more than 2000 special guests. After the grand wedding at the Iskcon Temple , veteran actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini hosted a gala reception for their daughter Esha at Mumbai’s Intercontinental The Lalit in Andheri.

It was a lovely creation by Rocky S for the gorgeous newlywed Esha . She cut a pretty picture in the Pink ” lehenga ” and corset Blouse embroidered with Swarovski crystals. We simply adored the add on which was there in the form of a pink flower for her hair. CUTE.

Bharat looked every inch classy in a smart black tuxedo with a white shirt which was designed by Simone Khambatta.

For the evergreen beauty Hemaji , it was a cream embroidered work saree designed by Neeta Lulla. The proud father of the bride was seen in a black suit over a white shirt . Ahana looked pretty in a pink lehenga – choli.

The Guest list included everyone from Bollywood to Politicians .Few names from the guest list are Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu, Rekha, Feroz Khan, Zeenat Aman, Jeetendra, Salman Khan, Tabu and Vidya Balan from Bollywood, Chaggan Bhujbal, BJP leaders LK Advani, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitly from the Politicians list.

Tanuja was seen with her beautiful daughters Kajol and Tanisha . Also seen were Madhuri Dixit with husband Dr Nene , Sridevi with Boney Kapoor , Mandira Bedi with husband as well as Anupam and Kirron Kher.

Esha Deol – Bharat Takhtani : Mehendi Ceremony


Next in line after the dazzling sangeet night was a color filled afternoon for the bride – to – be Esha Deol. The extravagant mehendi ceremony took place at a club in Bandra in Mumbai.The girls of the Deol family went traditional for this function with cheery colors and real flower ornaments including maang tikka and bracelet.

30 year old Esha opted for a yellow and green lehenga by favorite designer Neeta Lulla for the mehendi. The radiant mom Hema Malini made heads turn in a yellow and green saree with gorgeous lace border. As for Sister of the bride, Ahana it was a festive Nishka Lulla’s orange anarkali. The three ladies looked bright and colorful and so did all the guests.

Beau Bharat looked striking in a sleeveless Nehru jacket over a yellow white kurta pyjama.

The designer Neeta Lulla who was behind all the beautiful dresses worn by the bride and her family was seen in a beautiful lemon yellow anarkali and metallic sandals. Madhoo looked adorable in a chic printed saree. We simply loved it.

A close knitted family affair, the mehendi ceremony was a glimpse of how grand the wedding is going to be. What do you think about everyone’s appearances? Like it or not?

Esha Deol’s Sangeet Ceremony


Bollywood Shaadis are something we always look forward to. Beautiful ladies in Indian ethnic wear and handsome men in sherwanis and kurta pyajamas are a visual treat. Esha Deol’s sangeet ceremony was one such function.

The would be bride Esha looked dazzling in a traditional Lehnega by the designer Rocky S. The ensemble was red and indigo with gold zari work with the blouse in orange. Standing by her side , her Beau Bharat wore a blue velvet sherwani with gold zari designed by friend and designer Simone Khambatta.

Looking as beautiful as the bride to be was the bride’s mom Hema Malini. Always an epitome of beauty and grace, Hemaji gave us no less this time. She wore a sari designed by her favorite designer Shyamal and Bhumika. Little sister Ahana who prefers to be behind all the limelight looked wonderful and breathtakingly fresh in a blue anarkali suit. Another family member Madhoo Saprey who is Hema Malini’s niece was seen in a red lehnega with golden work and a halter neck blouse. She cut a pretty picture.

Among the guests present were Zayed Khan and Wife , Genelia – Ritiesh , Sen sisters , Nasserudhin Saha with wife Ratna , Designer Neeta Lulla, Masaba , Zoa Morani and others. Our favorite dressed amongst the guest were Preeti Desai who came with Abhay Deol. Dressed in a designer blue lehenga , she made a impact and stood out of all.

Sizzling Sonakshi in Rowdy Rathore


The songs are still ringing in my ears, but what I simply loved about the movie was Sonakshi. She simply sizzled and looked super glamorous.

Whoever thinks that Indian ethnic wear makes you look like a ‘behenji’ should go and watch Sonakshi in the movie. Though I generally refrain from using the adjective hot, yet this one word describes her look perfectly. She was simply ‘HOT’. She charmed us, she seduced us and she enthralled us. She was playful yet with grace.

Sonakshi gave us various looks, ranging from salwar suits to sarees to jeans and kurtis. She could be seen in tight fitted kurtis with patialas which turned into fitted churidars towards the end. The look was minimal with simple earrings and dupattas, on special occasions; she could be seen in sarees. The pretty sarees were plain solid color Georgette and chiffon with either blind borders or small embroidery work. For me, the look was simply flawless. With sarees, a kamar bandh was always there.

Latest Chammak Challo in B-town


We are sure nobody has missed the latest Chammak Challo of B- town. Yes, you guessed it right; we are talking about Sonakshi Sinha’s item number from her latest flick Rowdy Rathore.

While there have been talks of the song being similar to Bebo’s Chammak Challo from RA.One , yet there is no denying the fact that Sonakshi did full justice with her song, So there is no point getting into a debate over this.

What concerns us is that how pretty Sonakshi looked. We couldn’t get over the fact that being a newbie in B- Town, she was confident and knew how to carry herself. Decked up in Red saree with golden border and little golden patterns all over, Sonakshi looked simply sizzling. She kept it minimal with golden bangles, big earrings and a maang tika.

We simply loved her look. What about you?

And while we are still on item songs, how can we leave out Vidya Balan? Vidya believes in giving something new every time, and this time it was a special appearance in Ferrari Ki Sawari. Co-incidentally, she was also in a red saree.

Bappa Lahiri Sangeet


Looking blissfully happy , was the young couple Bappa Lahiri and Taneesha Verma on their sangeet night. A star studded night , the sangeet was fun filled .  And the presence of Tinsel town beauties in their traditional best made it gala event.

The groom and the bride looked great together and their friends and family made this night a special affair for them. The bride Taneesha, daughter of Bollywood stunt co-ordinator Mahendra Verma, was escorted on stage by her best friend, Shraddha Kapoor. She was dressed in a golden A line lehenga. Bappa Lahiri was dressed in a black sherwani with golden accents.

Parents of the groom  Bappi Lahiri & Chitrani were all dressed for the occasion , with Bapphi Lahiri in his staple bling jewelleries and shades and wife Chitrani in a golden colored saree.

Shraddha Kapoor looked great in a red colored strapless salwzar kameez with a blue dupatta. For Sophie Choudhry  it was a primary coloured Manish Malhotra lehenga. Designer Masaba was in a ankle length black suit and looked stunning. Others present at the vent were  Shibani Kahsyap , Ila Arun, Mamta Sharma, Raja Mukherjee, Sapna Mukherji, and Rimmi Sen.

Usha Uthup sang her super hit tracks and Alka Yagnik and Ila Arun entertained the audience with Choli Ke Peechey Kya Hai while Sophie Choudry performed to Jor Ka Jhatka Hai Joro Se Laga. Taneesha performed solo to Bole Chudiyan,and later the to-be-weds performed to the tunes of Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai.Many other friends of the family did impromptu dance performances.

Wedding Bells for Reema Sen


Shaadi’s are always a glitzy affair and this Bollywood shaadi season continues with another addition to the list. South Indian actress Reema Sen tied the knots with Delhi Based Hotelier Shiv Karan Singh on 13th March.

Weddings always make us happy and this was yet another reason for us to smile. Reema gave us different looks in all her functions. She looked amazing right from the Mehendi to the Wedding to her Reception. We saw the pretty Bride in a pink lehenga choli for her Mehendi ceremony.

For the wedding it was na ensemble by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The red designer lehenga was double layered and had golden embroidery all over. We at Sareez believe that a Wedding is the most beautiful day of a girl’s life and she looks her best on this day. Reema Sen was no exception. She dazzled and looked utterly divine.

She surprised us by her ultimate choice of a yellow colored lehenga for the reception. It was traditional and yet it gave a sense of fun and frolic. Once again she looked spectacular.

We wish the couple a Happy Married life ahead.

The Balaji Global Indian Films and TV Awards 2012


One more addition in the names of awards night this year was the Balaji’s Global Indian Film & TV awards held at Filmcity by Ekta Kapoor ‘s production house. This award show celebrated not just the best in cinema but also television talents of 2011. It was truly a star studded affair with our B- town divas looking scrumptious in Indian as well as western wear. Some of the ladies who rocked it in Indian Ethnic wear are Priyanka Chopra , Zarin Khan and Vidya Balan to name a few.

While still in a Sabyasachi creation , Vidya gave us a new look in a hot pink and black saree. The border of the saree had embroidered sequins buttons which was paired with designer quarter sleeves saree blouse. We totally loved the way she draped it. Priyanka Chopra looked breathtakingly gorgeous in a beautiful gold designer shimmer faux saree with lace saree border. It was paired with a designer cut sleeves saree blouse. She got thumbs up from our side for her prefect look right from the tikka to her hair to her accessories.

Zarine Khan adorned a beautiful red designer embroidery shimmer faux georgette saree, embellished with patch and gold lace border work paired with designer saree blouse. Zarine Khan is our favourite when it comes to someone who can carry a saree quite well and this time was no exception . Jiah Khan looked stunning in a beautiful silver designer embroidery shimmer faux georgette saree with sequins buttes and border work paired with designer embroidered sleeveless saree blouse . Divya Dutta and Tulip Joshi also made an appearance in a Saree.

Sonali Bendre once again was an epitome of elegance in a peach colored suit by Shantanu and Nikhil. Shazahn Padamsee opted for one of Anita Dogre’s floor length salwar suits and looked pretty as always. Others to make an appearance in salwar suits were Farah Khan , Shreya Ghosal and Priyanka Oberoi.

And when it comes to the host for the evening it was a lehenga in fuchsia and gold. While we loved the lehenga yet it seemed a little out of place for an awards night , would have preferred to see her in this in a wedding maybe. Yet that minor glitch apart , she looked quite cute and different from her past appearances.

Gr8 Women Achievers Awards 2012


Gr8 Women Achievers Awards 2012 was a star studded affair that took place on 15th February . Awards were presented to Women achievers from various fields in 25 different categories.

Vidya Balan looked great in a organza Sabyasachi saree . We loved Neha Dhupia who was in a Shivan and Narresh designer saree. We think she looked glamorous. Juhi Chawla was in a Designer anarkali suit. Balika Vadhu famed Avika Gaur looked very chic in a white anarkali suit with thick brocade border. Pria Kataria Puri , the designer looked fabulous in a yellow bling number.

Other stars present were Deepshikha, Avika Gor, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Ekta Kapoor, Gurmeet Chowdharyand Akashdeep Saigal .
